care instructions
Here you will find information on the correct care of your Garnier-Thiebaut textiles. To ensure that your items remain beautiful for as long as possible, please note the following care instructions:
washing
- Remove stains as soon as possible to prevent crusting in the fibrous tissue.
- Always follow the washing instructions on the product label.
- Before using for the first time, you should soak the laundry for a few hours or overnight or prewash it at 40°C (except coated or GREENSWEET products). This will remove any residue, minimize shrinkage and limit staining.
- When washing, do not mix intense colors with light colors to avoid discoloration.
ironing
- Garnier Thiebaut table linen is treated for easy ironing: iron the linen on the reverse, respecting the temperature indicated on the label.
- Stained tablecloths should never be ironed, as the heat from ironing fixes the dirt in the fibres.
grease stains
Rub the stains with a few drops of detergent or stain remover and leave for a few hours. Then wash under normal conditions.
ink stains
Blot the stain with a cloth soaked in 90% alcohol or acetone. Then wash the tablecloth under normal conditions.
coffee, tea or chocolate stains
>Dab the area with vinegar or sparkling water. Tea is an intense dye, so wash it off immediately before it dries. For coffee, warm water and dissolved egg yolk is effective. Then wash under normal conditions.
candle wax stains
First scrape off the wax. Place several layers of absorbent paper over the stain. Go over the paper layers with an iron and melt the remaining wax. Change papers several times. Then wash the tablecloth with warm soapy water.
wine or berry stains
Wipe immediately with absorbent paper or cloth to absorb the stain. Pour some white alcohol over the spot (such as white wine, gin, or vodka). Leave the alcohol on for a few minutes and then rub the area with some white vinegar. Then immerse the tablecloth in cold water and wash under normal conditions.
